The Local Area

Both properties are located near the traditional Peak District village of Butterton.

The village is home to the Black Lion Inn a thriving local pub serving great food and a rotation of excellent beers. Butterton overlooks the Manifold Valley and the disused Leek and Manifold light railway, a favourite for low level, traffic free walking and cycling and the opportunity to visit Thor’s Cave. For the more adventurous we are near to the Roaches a renowned rocky ridge popular with walkers, fell runners and climbers.

Butterton is within easy reach of Alton Towers, Ashbourne gateway to the Peaks,
Leek, Buxton, Bakewell and Chatsworth House.

 Keep Butterton Beautiful Fund

We and our guests are privileged to spend time in this very special village and we want to keep it that way. It is a constant struggle for rural villages to maintain facilities for residents and cope with the issues associated with seasonal visitors, for that reason we are establishing our own keep Butterton Beautiful Fund.

1% of all our property income will be donated twice yearly to village funds, we invite our guests to make a small additional contribution and will be developing new ideas to boost the fund. The funds progress will be posted on our Facebook Page and instagram.
